Simple Composting Process at Societies
- Segregate and collect the organic material from all flats
- Shred this wet waste and garden waste in a shredder
- Put shredded material (ideal mix is 30% wet waste and 70% garden waste) in composting pit.
- Add bio culture
- Mix the and move the material once a day to introduce air in the centre – optional
- First batch would be ready by 2-3 months
- Next batches should be ready within a month.
Composting pit is arrangement to hold atleast 1 cubic meter of volume of waste with air flow holes on all sides and drainage arrangement at bottle
